My first exposure to the world of film and television was when parts of my novella were adapted into an award-winning (Golden Hawk) miniseries.
Since then, I have been working as a screenwriter and script consultant for directors, producers and major studios in China. My language skills (Mandarin and English) and bicultural background (Chinese and American) gave me a unique edge to create content with global appeal.
Sophie’s Revenge, What Women Want, Guns and Roses are just some of my projects produced by leading studios in Asia: Warner Brothers China, Perfect World, Galloping Horse, Wanda, CJ Entertainment, Sky Wheel, etc.
I have worked with talents such as Zhang Ziyi, Fan Bingbing, Gong Li, Andy Lau, and directors such as Eva Jing (China’s queen of rom-com), Ning Hao (China’s Tarantino) and Frant Gwo who directed The Wandering Earth, China’s fifth highest-grossing film of all times.
When it comes to storytelling, I specialize in commercial premises, lush world-building, strong plot, and swift pacing.
Interestingly, I broke into the entertainment industry consulting on China’s first genre film, a rom-com, a category I swore I would never touch. After that, I became known as a rom-com script expert. I guess there’s a romantic in me after all.
